Aburaya started as a pop-up at The Hatch in downtown Oakland. The idea was simple: drink beer, fry chicken, have fun.

Our tori no karaage is naturally gluten-free, marinated in-house, and stays hot and crispy over an hour after pickup. Signature garlic miso dry dust. No shortcuts.
Punk Rock Runs the Kitchen
Rock & roll on the speakers. Izakaya warmth at the counter. Owner Adachi is usually there. This place has always been exactly what it looks like.
