This place is really great. I'm pretty critical of restaurants but I'll start by saying this is a five-star by Oakland standards. Excellent sauces and reasonably fast. Great alcohol selection. Good people. The owners work there and it seems like a good place to work from what I've heard. Packaging is biodegradable (I think) and simple.

Once you figure out how delicious everything is, it's hard to not order too much! The fried chicken is awesome. Never greasy, with a great texture inside and out. They let you choose flavorings for it, they're all pretty great but I think the umami dry seasoning is my favorite. There's plenty to eat with just the chicken and super fresh cabbage (eat it, it's good), but their sides are also fantastic!

Proudly announcing that we finally got rid of flour tortilla for the burrito and Texas bread for the Sando, which held us behind. Now we have gluten free buns from Mariposa Baking Company for Sando and seaweed (aka NORI) for the burrito!!
FYI: We still carry beer and some desserts that contain wheat products, but they are not made in our kitchen.
